Fights Dump

What were the longest 3 fights of all time ?

I seem to recall the the longest fight of all time lasted something like 3 hours & since, I think rounds were called only when a fighter went down..there may have been in excess of 50 rounds in this fight which may have involved a fighter named Bowen ? Does anyone recall the specifics ( fighters, # of rounds, duration, outcome ) of this fight ? Also; if this was the longest fight of all time...what were the second & third longest fights of all time ?

1. 1st - Andy Bowen vs. Jack Burke - 110 rounds - 7 hours 2nd - Danny Needham vs. Pat Kerrigan - 100 rounds 3rd - Harry Sharpe vs. Frank Crosby - 77 rounds
2. depends how far back you go since in boxings earliest days it was still a mixture of wrestling and boxing. Actually a lot like MMA. Once promoters worked out crowds preferred to see more knockouts than grappling they would stand the fighters up after a throw or knockdown. This is how the rounds system started. Funny thing the same thing has now happened to MMA. Anyway back then fights could last half a day or more, which eventually become the 100 round style fights above
